Shows, Movies, and Whatnots

Going a little more in-depth for those of you who wish to know more about me, we come to my favorite shows, movies, and whatnots.  I’m not really sure what a whatnot is, but perhaps someone else does.  Plus-I really just like saying it.

Shows:
Jon & Kate Plus 8
By far my favorite show right now.  I’ve got up to season 4 volume 1 because that’s all that’s been released, but there isn’t an episode I haven’t seen.  I don’t think I go a day without watching it either.  Despite all the feuding going on between Jon and Kate, I’m rooting for them and love them to death.

Gilmore Girls
The connection between mother in daughter in this show is something I really love.  Add on the witty one-liners and the fastfastfast talking/comebacks, it’s a great show.  I quote this show a lot and own all 7 seasons.  I hate to admit it, but I did cry at the end of the very last episode.  My fiance gave me a weird look and I simply whimpered, “there’s no more Gilmore Girls…”.  There have been rumors of a movie since God only knows when, but I still hope it happens.

Nanny 911
Of COURSE I love this show!  What can I say?  It teaches me some valuable lessons!  Some of the parents on that show make me sick, I must admit.  How you can even be as horrible of a parent as some of these people is beyond me.

The Backyardigans
I find myself enjoying watching Uniqua, Pablo, Tyrone, Austin, and Tasha fairly often.  What can I say?  They’re adorable little creatures that sing adorable little songs!  My favorite episode by far is Samurai Pie.  There’s something about samurais that make pie that lures me into the show I guess.

World’s Strictest Parents
A show that I found recently while channel surfing.  Spoiled brats erm…I mean, “young children with disipline issues” (how’s that?) are taken from their current living situation and go to live with some strict parents for a while.  While they’re with these “strict parents” they’re forced to *gasp* CLEAN?!  They really are just spoiled brats.  They aren’t allowed to smoke either, gosh darn it those 16 year olds deserve at least a smoke after all the “hard work”!  (Kidding.)  I suggest you watch it.  It makes me pity these kids and usually gets a good chuckle out of me.

Hi-5
GREAT show for kids.  Singing, dancing, a few puppets.  It’s a very fun show that has some very catchy tunes.  (Pepperoni and zucchini and a lots-ah mot-sah rellaaaa!)

America’s Next Top Model
I think this is the first show that doesn’t have much to do with families or parenting.  There’s a dark, dark side of me that loves reality/trashy tv.

The Real Housewives of…
I told you, it’s that dark side.

Movies:
Mean Girls
A very funny and very true movie about high school girls.  How I hated them.

The Notebook
Okay, I’m a sap.  I love this movie and I cry every single time I watch it.  I think it’s classic.

The Family Stone
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry!  You’ll want to watch it again.

Whatnots
n.
1. A minor or unspecified object or article.

2. A set of light, open shelves for ornaments.

pron.

Any of various additional or unspecified things or items.

Strange, I didn’t know a whatnot was a shelf!  You really do learn something new everyday.
